Why learn manufacturing engineering technology?
The Manufacturing Engineering Technology program at KCC will teach you the fundamentals of computer based 2D and 3D design. You will learn to apply mathematical concepts to basic engineering principles. If you choose not to continue on to a bachelor's degree, you are still employable in the field. If you do choose to continue on, KCC is in talks with OIT for an articulation agreement, so that your credits may transfer seamlessly.What software will you use in the program?
Students who complete the program will learn to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, such as autoCAD. They will also learn to use 3D rendering software such as SolidWorks. Designs made in this software may be printed on a 3D printer housed in KCC's new Work Skills Technology Center.Who employs program graduates?
Manufacturing Engineering Technology is a growing field. There are quite a few employment opportunities for graduates of the program. There are many companies in Klamath Falls that would employ graduates. These companies include Jeld Wen, ESI, and Fremont Millworks.
